Excellent book, easy read with beautiful pictures. The seller kept the book in good condition, delivered on time with a beautiful note. This book contains many ideas for storing and using things that we ordinarily throw away! It makes one stop and think before discarding anything at all. We have found our children using these "findings" in a myrisd of ways - time after time. After the initial "collecting" we have found that the collection was so large that we have not "collected" again for two years, and still have a great variety of materials. Goes to show that one does not need many of the expensive items in the catalogs in order to have interesting materials for teaching children!!I have recommended this book to teachers countless times. It is a brilliant accounting of an intentional plan for using found objects in an early childhood program. It shows the versatile possibilities of using found objects in all areas of the curriculumfor the entire year. But the integrated process in which the teachers proceed in the book is the key element. It connects home to school, provides for the child's deep involvement in deciding and directing the learning and illustrates the beauty and adaptability of collaboration in the classroom.I have kids and this is a great book for mothers to learn and know what kids might like to doI agree with a person here who thinks this is not the original book, because the pictures are not of great quaity.the content of the book is good though if you're looking for ideas of these sortsBeautiful Stuff documents the learning and teaching process of found materials which children collected from home with the help of their parents. It is inspiring and gives a new Reggio-inspired teacher or any early childhood educators who are keen in the project approach an insight to the whole learning and teaching process. I find it useful read and is part of my resource. I'm a early childhood educator but now a stay-at-home mum.Helpful to read and know, I just wish I’m more hands on to prep things!I absolutely adored this text book. This was purchased for a Early Childhood course and it was definitely a great investment. This is a text book I will hang on to use in my future classroom.Book is great....but I had to clean it.A little outdatedIt's a bit dated, but still gives wonderful ideas for providing non-commercial materials and "beautiful stuff" for young children to explore. One of my favourite booksamazing resource!
