I would say if you are between sizes, go up, not down. These are very cute. Nice fabric. Nice, low heel. The zipper backing is a little stiff, so there is some bulging there as other reviews have mentioned, but it also is a slightly slouchy look boot once on, so the little bulging doesn't stand out to me. I did cut the zipper guard off inside one of the boots in order to see if the lessened bulk would take care of the bulges, but I think the improvement is only very slight. The most important thing for keeping the slim line of the boot is to keep it from slipping below the knee. I ordered some stretch laces to replace the cute (because of the tassels) lace that the boot comes with. The original laces have NO stretch, which is a large part of the problem with keeping them up. They need to be able to give a little and recover as you walk around. So, including replacement laces, these are a little pricey for what they are. Still, a nice boot that I will enjoy wearing.
